Burying one's head in the sand about corruption and violence in Law Enforcement is even worse than keeping your actions against it limited to gossiping about it at the local watering hole. Whatever method you use to shield yourself from the misconduct of others, getting together as a group and purging all the corrupt officers might make the public trust in Law Enforcement. It's ironic as civilians, officers tell us that if there are criminals in our midsts, or in our communities, our families, our neighborhoods and in our churches, we should turn them in and report their crimes. YET, when it is your brothers or sisters in blue who commit crimes against civilians, you either go blind, while it's occurring, or you go deaf when you hear it happening. You go mute because you hardly ever report on your brothers who commit beatings, framings, rapes, or assaults on family members. You come to web sites like these (started by officers who did the opposite of what you're doing and tried to change the bad) and see how much crime your brethren commit and you still refuse to do your sworn duty. That blue code of silence that you take great pride in, that binds you together, becomes a bad joke to the people you take an oath to protect and serve.
